According to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the newst patient, N.Q.T, was under medical scrutiny at the Hanoi-based National Hospital of Tropical Diseases and had samples tested positive for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
The 26-year-old patient, N.H.N, earlier visited her sister in the UK, then travelled to Italy and returned to Hanoi on March 1 on flight VN0054.
The suspected cases have by now been quarantined and her residential area tightly contained and supervised.
Experts and officials of the Ministry of Health held that the Hanoi case comes within a scenario worked out earlier. It is similar to those in Son Loi commune, Vinh Phuc province’s Binh Xuyen district, which Vietnam has experience in coping with, they highlighted, concluding that by now, things are still under control.
Vietnam has to date detected 21 COVID-19 infection cases. Of them, 16 patients had been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals./.
