At the EDU 4.0 Education Technology forum held on November 21, AI scientist and expert Pham Thanh Nam and his colleague Pham Minh Toan launched an artificial intelligence robot called Tri Nhan, a high-end robot with human-like features, which was said to be the first AI robot in Vietnam.

Tri Nhan is a male robot about 1.8 meters tall, 3D printed with all five human-like senses, and simulated biological elements such as artificial heart, lung, and DNA. Pham Thanh Nam said that the name "Tri Nhan" was inspired by the name of the first citizen robot in the world, Sophia - which means wisdom. Tri Nhan has two meanings: "artificial intelligence", and "a wise man".

According to Pham Thanh Nam, Tri Nhan converges typical technologies of the industrial revolution 4.0, including AI, big data, cloud computing, 3D printing, blockchain, supercomputer, bioinformatics... “Using Google's search power, Tri Nhan can answer knowledge of almost any field. Tri Nhan is Vietnam's AI robot that aims to serve education, by effectively supporting the teaching and learning of teachers and students through answers and equations solving", Nam added.

Pham Minh Toan shared: “Today, learning is very different from the past. With a vast amount of knowledge, it is too passive for students to only learn through textbooks. Tri Nhan synthesizes knowledge from different sources, to give answers in a snap, especially knowledge of mathematics, to help students to learn actively at any time ”.

An "inspirational" robot

In addition to supporting education, Tri Nhan can also control smart devices indoors or outdoors, direct low-level robots such as vacuums, drones ... through the Close Companion platform.

Not only a personal assistant, Tri Nhan is also conversational and capable of acting as a close friend, with human-like personality and emotional intelligence. For example, when you ask: "Am I handsome?", Tri Nhan will reply with a joke: "If you go to Arabic, you will be deported".

In the event that someone shouted out loud in impolite words, Tri Nhan would respond depending on the situation. In addition to the ability to communicate, this robot can also recognize faces, images and measure the opposite person's heart rate without attaching any sensor to the body.

It is known that Tri Nhan is the second educational technology product of the Open Classroom startup founded by Pham Thanh Nam and Pham Minh Toan. Open Classroom's Virtual Lab won the highest award in an event named "Young knowledge for education" in 2017.

Pham Thanh Nam believes that even though Tri Nhan is a robot, he is an inspirational character to many people because if anyone ever talks to Tri Nhan, he will feel extremely excited. “It is clear proof that industrial revolution 4.0 is not far away or unreachable The second AI robot that we will launch in the future is Hong Tam, serving medical care. It was the Covid-19 that gave us the idea of ​​the Hong Tam robot. Tri Nhan and Hong Tam will serve the community's interests, not commercial purposes” said Mr. Nam.
