Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in socio-economic development and foreign affairs, especially its role as ASEAN Chair 2020 and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the period 2020-2021 as well as in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic over the past time.
He said that the relationship between Morocco and Vietnam in general, as well as between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the National Assembly of Vietnam in particular, is growing and becoming more practical. The Moroccan House of Representatives signed a Cooperation Agreement with the National Assembly of Vietnam in 2017, becoming an observer of the Inter-Parliamentary Council of Southeast Asian Nations at the 41st AIPA General Assembly chaired by Vietnam in 2020.
He said that Morocco attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation relations with Vietnam and agreed that the two countries still have a lot of potential for cooperation in the coming time, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, tourism, culture and education. He regretted that his second visit to Vietnam, scheduled for August 2020, had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but he will talk online with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to discuss change, continue to deepen the relationship between the two National Assembly agencies and the two countries.
The two sides discussed the current cooperation situation between the two countries as well as measures to promote in the future, activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco in 2021. In commemoration activities, there is the construction of the Vietnam Gate in Morocco, so that together with the Moroccan Gate in Ba Vi will be symbols for future generations to always remember the common historical memory between the two countries and contribute to this good friendship.

Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha thanked President Habib El Malki for his affection for Vietnam as well as his contributions over the years to the Vietnam-Moroccan relations in general and between the two parliaments of the two countries in particular. At the same time, Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha expressed her hope that the two countries would continue to cooperate closely at multilateral forums for the benefit of the two peoples as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development of the world.
