	Vietnam Facilitates Activities of Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association

According to President of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic Nguyen Duy Nhien, the Association is the legitimate, official and highest representative organization of the Vietnamese community, established on November 15, 1999, recognized by the Czech and Vietnamese governments. After 25 years of establishment and development, the Association has progressed significantly, evolving from a small group to the current scope with 10 provincial-level associations, 44 district-level branches, and 27 member associations.

Members of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic are diverse in levels and areas of activity. The Vietnamese community has truly integrated into Czech society, participating in economic development activities, traditional culture, thereby enriching the diverse culture of the Czech Republic. The past journey has also marked the great contribution of Vietnamese people in volunteer activities in the Czech Republic as well as many activities towards the homeland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that despite geographical distance, Viet Nam and the Czech Republic have many similarities in cultural traditions and history. The Czech Republic is one of the first countries in the world to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with Viet Nam since the 1950s. The Vice President affirmed that the overseas Vietnamese community, including the compatriots in the Czech Republic, has made important contributions to the cause of innovation, construction and development of the country.

After 25 years of establishment, the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic has developed strongly, operated in accordance with its principles and goals, built a network of members, connected local associations with the homeland, and contributed to promoting the image of the country and people of Viet Nam to Czech friends. The Association has also played an important role in nurturing love for the homeland, especially among the young generation, and affirming the position and prestige of Vietnamese people with local authorities.

The Vice President hopes that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic will continue to promote its role and responsibility, contribute more to the socio-economic development of the hosting country. She also urges the community to stay united, preserve the national cultural identity, look towards the homeland, and become a solid bridge for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil extended his congratulations on the 25th anniversary of establishment of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic. He also recognized the great contributions of the Vietnamese community to the Czech Republic and Viet Nam.

Hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese people studying in the Czech Republic has laid an important foundation for the two sides to build and further develop the relationship between the two countries and two peoples over the last 75 years and look fowards to upgrading the bilateral relation to a new level. The Czech Senate President affirmed that local authorities would strive to support activities to promote cooperation in various fields as well as enhance people-to-people exchanges between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic.

At the ceremony, Vice President of the Czech House of Representatives Karel Havlicek highly appreciated the development of the Vietnamese community in recent times. Many individuals have made important contributions in the fields of economics, science, health, education, public administration. He also emphasized the support and assistance of the Vietnamese community to the hosting country, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In recognition of the contributions, efforts and achievements of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented the First- and Third-Class Labor Medals of the State of Viet Nam to the Association and three individuals, including Hoang Dinh Thang, Nguyen Duy Nhien and Giang Thanh. Also at the ceremony, many individuals and groups were awarded with certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front.
