Vietnamese billionaire donates face masks, PPE for Filipino frontliners to combat COVID-19

Ms. Le Thi Phung - Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines at Ho Chi Minh city officially received the aids in a symbolic handover ceremony organized in Ho Chi Minh City recently. The donation was brought to the Philippines via a chartered flight of Vietnam Airlines arranged by IPPG right after that.

A turnover ceremony held by Mr. Tedoro L. Locsin Jr, The Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines with the participation of a number of news agencies in Manila to welcome the meaningful gift from Vietnam.

Mr. Locsin expressed his gratitude for IPPG’s donation, which is essential to the ongoing efforts of the DFA to bring home thousands of overseas Filipinos amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today, Secretary (Teodoro Locsin Jr.) received over 750,000 masks and PPE (sets) donated by Vietnamese business tycoon and well-known philanthropist, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, to help protect DFA’s front-liners against Covid-19,” the DFA said over Twitter.

Mr. Locsin also said that Vietnam may serve as a good model, given how effectively they have dealt with the global health crisis.
