Vietnamese Businesses in Berlin Meet at The Beginning of New Year 2024
Dong Xuan Trade Center in Lichtenberg district of Berlin and Vietnamese businesses operating at the centre recently held a get-together to welcome the New Year, VOV reported.
In his speech, Chu Tuan Duc, minister-counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, displayed elation at the strong development and success of enterprises based there.
Duc outlined his belief that the Vietnamese people in Germany will continue to record greater achievements and serve as a bridge for mutual ties, adding that the strategic partnership between the two nations is not only strengthened by the two governments, but also nurtured by the peoples, businesses, and localities.

He went on to affirm that over the years, Dong Xuan Trade Center has become an economic hub in the German capital, a valuable source of contribution to Lichtenberg district in particular and to Berlin in general.
Furthermore, he believes that the centre has truly become a cultural and exchange centre, serving as a meeting place for the Vietnamese community in Germany.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Licktenberge Martin Schaefer affirmed that Dong Xuan Trade Center is a very important location for Lichtenberg district because it is not only an economic development center but also an integration center and has a great contribution to the district.
He pledged to support Vietnamese businesses operating there for the causes of sustainable development and better integration.

According to Nguyen Xuan Dinh, a representative of the Vietnamese businesses operating at the Center, the Dong Xuan Cultural Center building which is within the campus of Dong Xuan Trade Center, opened in 2023 with an investment capital of more than EUR 20 million (USD 21.8 million). It has always been a cultural exchange meeting point for the Vietnamese community in Berlin.
Dong Xuan Trade Center was first established in the early 2000s and is considered to be the largest trade centre for Vietnamese nationals in Germany, whilst it is also the largest Asian market in Berlin.
German data shows that among EU member countries, Germany is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner with two-way trade reaching about EUR 18 billion (more than USD 19 billion) in 2022. There are currently about 500 German companies running their representative offices in Vietnam. In an effort to diversify markets and production locations, many German companies are considering investing in Vietnam. Over 100,000 Vietnamese people have studied and worked in Germany.
