Poland is one of the many European countries currently rolling out mass vaccination. Medical localities, including Lotus, have been receiving free batches of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from the Polish government so far.
“The Lotus medical center is very honored to be one of over 6,000 COVID-19 vaccination sites in Poland. We got the license after passing epidemiological tests, medical personnel’s qualifications”, Tran Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Poland said. “Lotus will offer free COVID-19 vaccination to overseas Vietnamese and local people as well”.
Lotus medical center has been working closely with the Community Supporting Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, effectively assisting in testing, counseling on disease prevention, as well as treating thousands of people in the Vietnamese community and local residents.
Tuan said the Polish medical team at the center is all experienced enough to handle unexpected situations. For those overseas Vietnamese not fluent in Polish, the voluntary interpreters at the center would be of great support.
Since January 27, Lotus is prioritizing over-70-year-old people who have registered for vaccination in advance. It is expected to receive additional vaccines in March to cater to the increasing demand.
The Community Supporting Committee for COVID-19 Prevention was founded in February 2020 by the Vietnamese community in Poland. It aims at updated overseas Vietnamese with up-to-the-minute Poland’s COVID-19 updates, propagandizing anti-pandemic measures, bridging Vietnamese nationals and local medical and educational facilities. When Vietnam’s battled by the first wave last January, the committee sent over 50,000 face masks, 200 vitamin boxes, 200 antiseptic bottles to the stricken commune. It also presented hospitals, medical facilities in Poland with 4,000 testing kits when the outbreak ravaged the country last year. |
