Vietnamese Community in Romania Eagerly Celebrates Major Holidays of Homeland
Recently, the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania coordinated with the Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese associations in Romania to organize rallies and many sports activities to celebrate the country's major holidays.
The ceremony was held at Bucharest-based Lacul Tei Park on April 28 to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2024), 138 years of International Labour Day (May 1) and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024).

The celebration took place in a warm and fun atmosphere with the participation of more than 200 members of the Vietnamese community, international students living, working, and studying in Romania, along with all officials and Embassy staff, along with a number of international friends.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh highlighted the meaning and importance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the great victory of the Vietnamese people 49 years ago completely liberating the South, unifying the country to enter the era of national independence and socialism.

The event is an opportunity to review together the tradition of fighting, building, and defending the Fatherland of our ancestors as well as pay tribute, praise, cheer and encourage the movements in the Vietnamese community in Romania that are continuously developing. The event is held regularly with many practical activities for the common benefit of the community, towards the homeland, making practical contributions to consolidating and strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
Ambassador Do Duc Thanh affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania always strives to stand side by side with the community, and do a good job of protecting citizens, as well as updated on ongoing measures and activities.
He called on people to continue researching practical forms to support the movement "The whole Country for Truong Sa", respond, and register to participate in the overseas Vietnamese summit, among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Romania Tran Duy Hung called on people to unite and join hands to build a stronger community. At the same time, he wishes the athletes a day of sports competitions to celebrate major holidays in the spirit of solidarity, and fairness as well as "being healthy to protect the Fatherland".
Immediately after the rally, many sports competitions took place such as volleyball, tug of war, soccer for children, and soccer for adults, with the participation of a large number of Vietnamese community members, and young people in Romania.
