Vietnamese in Japan Sends Aid to Earthquake-Affected Communities

The Vietnamese community handed over the third round of support for earthquake victims in Japan.

Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha and representatives of the Kansai Region Vietnamese Association, Japan-Vietnam Support Association, and Japan-Vietnam Trade Association came to the Ishikawa provincial office in Osaka to present relief aid worthed over JPY 600,000 (more than USD 4.000) in cash for two cities Suru and Wajima on January 19.

Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha shared encouragement and condolences to the people of Ishikawa province in particular and the people of Japan who suffered natural disasters in the recent earthquake. At the same time, the Consul General also thanked the Japanese government for creating many conditions for Vietnamese citizens to work and study in Japan.

Chief Representative of Ishikawa prefectural office in Osaka, Yamashita Yukinori thanked the Vietnamese people for their timely support and contributions. This action has encouraged the province mentally and materially to overcome this difficult period.

This is the third time the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and Vietnamese associations, unions, and business organizations in the Kansai region have supported earthquake victims in Ishikawa province.

The Vietnamese community donated cash support to Suru and Wajima cities.

Previously, the campaign committee delivered 700 sets of essential goods, 1,000 hygiene kits, 500 boxes of antiseptic hand sanitizer, and 500 boxes of mineral water to victims affected by the earthquake.

Ishikawa, home to over 5,000 Vietnamese residents, recently bore the brunt of the major earthquake and tsunami on January 1. Immediately after the disasters, the Consulate General guided Vietnamese associations and businesses in the region to establish a fundraising mobilization committee, providing assistance to victims and promptly implementing relief plans.
