On September 10, residents at Ngoc Cham village in Thanh Hoa province donated funds and prepared 700 banh chung (Chung cake), hundreds of instant noodles and milk boxes to support flood victims in Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province. The relief goods are scheduled for transport on the afternoon of September 11.
In Nghe An province, many localities participated in relief efforts. According to Nguyen Thi Vinh, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, the commune had mobilized residents to make around 900 banh chung and donate essential items to send to the provincial relief committee. The food preparation process was tightly organized to ensure the quality of the cakes during transport.

In Ha Tinh, the youth from Ky Phu commune in Ky Anh district gathered dry seafood, such as fish and squid, to send to the northern provinces. These gifts provide nutritional value and are easy to preserve in challenging conditions. The local youth union also collected monetary donations for additional support.
Meanwhile, in Quang Binh, a group of volunteers from Le Thuy district, including skilled swimmers and experienced rescuers, along with four small fishing boats, set off to support people in Thai Nguyen province. Notably, several transportation companies here waived fees for volunteers and provided free transport for relief goods headed to the north.

In Da Nang, local people swiftly prepared banh chung to send to the affected areas. In Ngu Hanh Son district, Le Thanh Long and his volunteer group cooked and packed 1,000 cakes for the northern communities. These cakes are expected to be transported on the afternoon of September 11, with all costs covered by sponsors and voluntary contributions from the local population.
In the southern region, Hoang Anh Tuan, founder of the "Rice ATM" initiative, said that he had sent 1,000 life jackets and a motorboat to the Hanoi Youth Union for distribution to the affected provinces. In addition, Do Khanh Dong from Thu Duc City in Ho Chi Minh City sent 800 life jackets and is currently working with a volunteer group to provide on-the-ground support.
Additionally, the Saigon Night charity group purchased 1,500 life jackets, considered essential items during these times, to send to the north.

On September 10, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front launched a campaign to support those affected by Storm No. 3. Authorities and residents of Ho Chi Minh City donated VND 120 billion, while Binh Duong province allocated VND 10 billion from its relief fund to help northern provinces recover from the disaster.
Across social media platforms, countless calls for support for northern flood victims have been widely shared. In response, hundreds of relief teams from various provinces quickly set off, bringing supplies and not hesitating to enter the most heavily affected areas to support the local people.
Numerous individuals, businesses, and volunteer groups from Hanoi, central, and southern provinces organized free rides to deliver relief supplies to areas severely impacted by the floods.
Speaking to the press, Bui Van Trieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune in My Duc district, Hanoi, stated that approximately 200 boats were mobilized on the afternoon of September 10 to rescue residents in flood-hit areas of Thai Nguyen province, which is facing severe flooding. Additionally, Huong Son commune sent four trucks carrying essential supplies to support the residents in flooded areas.

In the HH Linh Dam residential community in Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi, on the night of September 9, residents organized a relief campaign for Thai Nguyen with four trucks loaded with emergency supplies, including instant foods, clean water, medicines, flashlights, life jackets, and ropes. Further relief campaigns are planned for other affected areas, such as Yen Bai and Tuyen Quang provinces.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Professor Le Ngoc Thach, a visiting lecturer at the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, decided to withdraw his entire VND 1 billion savings to support citizens in flooded areas. "This amount is significant to me, yet it is only a small part compared to harship faced by people in the north," said the Professor. |
