Huong Son District (Ha Tinh) presented 5,000 medical masks, 3 hand sanitizers and 90 medical protective clothes to Khamkeut district to help it in the Covid-19 fight.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Secretary of the Huong Son District Party Committee Bui Nhan Sam shared the difficulties caused by Covid-19 that Laos in general and Khamkeut district in particular have suffered. Amidst the complicated development of Covid-19 in Laos, Huong Son district has adopted many anti-pandemic measures in Ha Tinh- Khamkeut border.

Head of the Khamkeut district thanked Huong Son District and Ha Tinh Border Guard for their timely support, expressing his hope that in the time to come, the two districts would continue fostering friendship and cooperation to soon stamp out the Covid-19 epidemic.
On April 29 afternoon, the Central Quang Binh Province also gifted Covid-19 medical equipment and supplies worth VND2 billion ($86,337) to Khammuane province.
The donation includes oxygen generators, thermometers, medical masks, protective clothes, etc
At the hand-over ceremony, Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang shared the difficulties caused by Covid-19 that the Khammuane province has suffered. He also shared experience in Covid-19 prevention and control with the province, hoping that the aid would partly help it to soon stem the epidemic.

Quang Binh’s leader also hoped the authorities of Khammuane province to continue assisting and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the province. He asked the two provinces’ armed forces to unite and join hands in building a peaceful, friendly and safe Vietnam-Laos border.
On behalf of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Khammuane province, leader of Khammuane province extended his thanks to the Party Committee, authorities and people of Quang Binh for their assistance; at the same time, affirming that the aid would be effectively used.
Previously, the Vietnamese Association in Laos’ Oudomsay province donated a total of 135 million LAK ($14,363) worth of COVID-19 relief supplies and cash on April 29 to help local authorities fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The supplies included 600 boxes of instant noodles and 55,000 medical masks, worth 70 million LAK. The donation was handed over to Oudomsay Governor Bounkhong Lachiemphong. |
Vietnam's Health Ministry will also send experienced experts to Laos to help set up test systems and field hospitals for Covid-19 patients. In a virtual meeting Thursday with Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, his Lao counterpart Bounfeng Phoummalaysith said the pandemic has dramatically erupted in his country since April 20, spreading to 15 of 18 provinces, Vnexpress reported. Laos needs 10 real-time RT-PCR machines with a capacity of 40,000 samples a day, said Phoummalaysith, expressing his hope for Vietnam’s assistance with equipment, supplies, and treatment. "Laos wishes to have Vietnam's help with experts for testing and sharing other lessons," he said. Long said Vietnam will provide Laos with 200 ventilators, two million masks, 10 tonnes of chloroquine, and other equipment. Vietnamese experts will also go to Laos and help build test systems, field hospitals, especially intensive care units (ICUs) for severe cases. Vietnamese experts will support Lao colleagues in treating patients via telehealth systems, that are to be established at treatment facilities in Laos. |
