VKBIA to Promote Danang – Gangwon Cooperation
At the reception, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Da Nang city introduced the potential, strengths, and socio-economic development orientation of Da Nang city. She also provided basic information on the content of the Resolution by the Central Party on building and developing Da Nang city; discussed the recent cooperation situation between the locality and Korean units.
On behalf of city leaders, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi sent her sincere thanks to Tran Hai Linh, President of VKBIA and members of the Association for supporting the locality during the city leaders' working visit to RoK in September 2023 as well as providing very practical and effective support in signing a tourism development cooperation document between the Gangwon Tourism Department (RoK) and the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city on September 26, 2023.

She requested VKBIA President Tran Hai Linh, leaders and members of the Association to pay attention to introducing Korean investment funds, corporations and businesses to continue investing in Da Nang. At the same time, there are many more activities to support cooperation in tourism, promote the image of Da Nang city to the Korean people, and strengthen the connection between Da Nang and RoK localities.
According to Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang city, information technology is a key industry to this locality. Da Nang also has many advantages in cultural development, especially cultural tourism.
Gangwon is considered one of the leading developed localities in RoK. Thi expressed her hope that Gangwon will introduce Da Nang city to other partners in RoK to explore the city's investment environment, especially in the fields of semiconductors, information technology, high-tech industry, and marine economy. Da Nang also requested further support in connecting and cooperating in the fields of culture, society, tourism, and labor dispatching.
According to Thi, Da Nang is one of three cities in Vietnam piloting urban government organization and Gangwon province was also granted special autonomous province status by the Korean government in mid-2023.
The two localities can exchange and share experiences in managing and operating the government apparatus. Da Nang and Gangwon have many similarities in geography, favorable natural landscapes, and many advantages in tourism, culture and green economic development.

At the meeting, Jeong Jae Woong, Chairman of the Cultural and Social Committee, Gangwon Special Autonomous Provincial Council highly appreciated the warm welcome of Da Nang city. Thanking VKBIA for the connection activities between Da Nang and Gangwon, he affirmed that he would promote cooperation in areas of potential, strengths, and similarities of the two localities.
On this occasion, on behalf of the city's leaders, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi sent an official invitation to VKBIA President Tran Hai Linh and members of the Association to attend the "Meet Da Nang 2024" Conference.
VKBIA President emphasized that he would continue to strengthen support for Da Nang in cooperation with Gangwon province, contributing to promoting friendship between Vietnam and RoK in many specific fields, including areas where the city has strengths and needs to attract strategic partners.
