Why international commercial flights entering Vietnam again temporarily suspended
According to the representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the quarantine rules for foreigners have been carried out well; however, problems have arisen in terms of the application of the rules to Vietnamese citizens, Nguoi Lao Dong reported.
Hoang Minh Duc, an official of the Ministry of Health said representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health have just met to list all problems arising following the two flights from Seoul (South Korea) to Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).

He said preparing hotels and collecting quarantine fees for arrivals was just one of the problems that need to be tackled, and the working group of the Ministry of Health was developing a consistent quarantine process applicable to all nationwide.
It is expected that the process will be completed in three days and submitted to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control for approval, Duc added.
The Ministry of Transport said that it has consulted Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City about the quarantine procedures of international flights, Thanh Nien reported.
Previously, the flight from Korea to Hanoi was conducted by Vietnam Airlines on September 25; meanwhile, Korea- Ho Chi Minh City flight was launched by low-cost VietJet Air on September 30. Nevertheless, some problems occurred.

Specifically, after the Seoul - Ho Chi Minh City flight landed at Tan Son Nhat airport on September 30, some passengers refused to quarantine at hotels, complaining the fees were too high. A similar incident took place on the Soul-Hanoi flight five days earlier. The problem was quickly coped with as the passengers agreed to return to concentrated quarantine facilities instead of hotels or other private lodging facilities.
