120 young overseas Vietnamese and students visited the special national relic Po Klong Garai Tower in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan Province.

Located on Trau Hill in Phan Rang City, Ninh Thuan Province, Po Klong Garai is a complex of temples consisting of the Main Tower, the Gate Tower, and the Fire Tower. It was built in the late 13th, and early 14th centuries.

On the morning of July 25th, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Museum hosted a welcoming ceremony for 120 outstanding overseas Vietnamese students participating in the 2024 Vietnam Summer Camp, representing 28 countries, and territories.

According to legend, the Po Klong Garai tower complex was constructed as a tribute to the brave King Po Klong Garai, and was built by King Shihavaman. Despite the ravages of time, the tower has remarkably preserved its artifacts and traditional values.

Po Klong Garai Tower is not only a historical site but also serves as a venue for traditional Cham festivals (Illustrative image).

The tower complex is considered the most magnificent and unique among the remaining Cham towers in Vietnam. It is one of the historical sites in Ninh Thuan that attracts a large number of visitors to explore and learn about the unique culture of the Cham people. Po Klong Garai Tower is regarded as a distinctive spiritual symbol, a unique work of art, a cultural treasure, and a source of pride for the Cham people here.

Here, overseas Vietnamese youth and students learned about one of the unique architectural works, rich in cultural and historical value, of the Cham people.

Previously, on July 24th, in Khanh Hoa province, 120 outstanding overseas Vietnamese youth from 28 countries and territories participating in the 2024 Vietnam Summer Camp paid their respects at the Tran Hung Dao Monument and visited the Naval Academy. This is an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese youth to empathize with and better understand the armed forces protecting the country's sovereignty over its seas and islands.

The 2024 Vietnam Summer Camp for Overseas Vietnamese Youth this year has the participation of 120 young people and students from 28 countries and territories. This is the 19th time the program has been organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with agencies and localities. The program kicked off in Hanoi on July 14, and will conclude in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29, 2024.
