After only four days of attending the camp, I have made friends with many young Vietnamese from all over the world.

I am looking forward to the upcoming experiences: from charity work, visiting Uncle Ho's hometown in Kim Lien, to exploring the Hue Imperial City and interacting with the locals.

What I look forward to most at the summer camp is visiting Truong Son Cemetery.

My grandfather was a martyr, I long to pay my respect in memory of the heroes who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

I hope that 120 overseas Vietnamese youth and students will together create a memorable summer, connecting compatriots and national pride.

Building a Global Vietnamese Summer Camp Network

I am very proud to attend Vietnam Summer Camp 2024. Although I have been through many international exchange programs, I realize that nothing is more precious than the opportunity to connect with Vietnamese friends.

The summer camp has given me a special experience in my beloved homeland that my family always longs for.

Growing up in the UK, this trip is a precious opportunity for participants to connect with our roots.

Traveling from North to South, we will improve our Vietnamese, explore the country’s diverse history, geography and culture. We will gain a deeper understanding of a modern Vietnam, developing rapidly, but not without challenges and victories in the past.

This is also an opportunity for the overseas Vietnamese youth to spread Vietnamese culture to the community where they live.

I am sure that my friends at St Paul's School London, UK will be jealous of the wonderful experiences I have had in Vietnam this summer.

With 120 delegates, this is a great opportunity for us to learn, contribute and make long-lasting friendships.

We will explore all three regions, actively making the most of this experience.

I hope that after the summer camp ends, I will establish a Global Vietnam Summer Network to maintain connections between overseas Vietnamese youth.

This network will organize community activities towards the homeland, supporting Vietnamese people around the world, especially the younger generation.

Hoang Duc Hung (Slovakia):

Spreading Vietnamese culture and spirit abroad

The Vietnam Summer Camp is a valuable opportunity for me. It helps me to connect and get to know young Vietnamese people from all over the world. Although we are different from each other, our blood is Vietnamese blood. It is the thread that binds the young generation together.

After returnin from the camp, I plan to share my experiences and lessons here with my friends in Slovakia. I wish to contribute to spreading Vietnamese culture and spirit abroad.
