2020 marks great efforts of Vietnamese community in Turkey

The Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey highly appreciated the great efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic of the Vietnamese community at the 2021 Welcoming ceremony recently held in Turkey.

The ceremony was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Tran Quang Tuyen, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Turkey, overseas Vietnamese students, and all officials, staff working at the Embassy and their family members.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey has gained outstanding achievements in 2020 notwithstanding the limited external activities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Certain major activities in 2020 include providing online video service between Deputy Foreign Ministers of the two countries to exchange measures promoting bilateral relations in the context of the pandemic, first time translating and publishing a book about Ho Chi Minh’s life and career in Turkish on the occasion of the President’s 130 birthday.

In addition, the Embassy also participated in the online seminar promoting Vietnam-Turkey tourism cooperation, strengthened the protection of citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic, timely and successfully supported Vietnamese nationals to repatriate as well as Vietnamese citizens transiting in Turkey in need.

Tuyen spoke highly of Vietnamese community’s efforts, their solidarity, and mutual support as the novel coronavirus spreading across the country. He also had private talks with Vietnamese overseas students, learning about their living and studying conditions, encouraging them to keep studying and strictly practicing Myanmar’s regulations. At last, the Ambassador encouraged the students to promote Vietnamese cultural beauty and people to Turkish friends.
