Vietnam entered the 80th day in a row without new Covid-19 cases reported in the community as of July 5, according to the National Steering Committee on Covid 19 Prevention and Control.

Among the total 355 cases in the country, 215 are imported and quarantined right after their arrival, and 340 have been given all-clear. The remaining 15 are being treated and three of them tested negative at least twice for the virus that causes the disease, according to The World and Vietnam Magazine.

Currently, 11.466 people are being quarantined either at hospitals, concentrated establishments, or at home, reported by Vietnam Plus.

The report of the National Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control shows that 340/355 people infected with Covid-19 in Vietnam have been cured by this time. The remaining 15 patients are being treated at decent health facilities throughout the country.

Among these patients, no cases were negative for the first test time with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and 3 cases were negative for at least 2 times.

Also according to the Committee, the British pilot (patient 91) who is being treated at Cho Ray Hospital has fully recovered and received a National Consultation on the morning of July 3. Cho Ray Hospital will coordinate with the representative of the authorized insurance agency to carry out discharge procedures for the patient.

Vietnam's Immigration Department announced that all foreigners who entered Vietnam after March 1 on visa exemptions, e-visas, or tourism visas will be given automatic stay extensions at no charge until July 31, 2020. Travellers still in the country should declare their temporary residence to local police, through their landlords or hotels, and must complete Vietnam's online health declaration.

Visitors who entered the country before March 1 may be considered for the extension, provided they can show an official letter from their embassy or consulate stating they were unable to leave the country due to objective reasons. Foreigners who have undergone quarantine or treatment for Covid-19 in Vietnam are also eligible for the extension. They must bring their certification documents to show immigration officials when leaving Vietnam.
