6 days of no community infection, 835 patients cured
The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Control and Prevention 6 am newsletter states that no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. Thus, it has been 6 continuous days that Vietnam has no new cases in the community.
Currently, the total number of people under medical monitoring (quarantine) is 39,975. The number of cured cases is 835 cases, death toll stays at 35. There are 6 cases with very severe prognosis who facing the risk of death, accounting for 2.9% of the total number of patients under treatment.
The Center for Disease Control Ho Chi Minh City (HCDC) has just provided guidance on medical supervision for people from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, all people leaving Da Nang City from 0:00 on September 5, 2020, must make medical declarations and self-monitor their health for 14 days.

Japan donated US$ 21.6 million to Vietnam against COVID-19 epidemic
On the afternoon of September 7, Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long and the Japanese ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio signed a diplomatic note on Japan's funding of 500 billion VND to support Vietnam's fight against COVID-19.
According to the note, Japan will finance a program to provide medical equipment to 4 central hospitals in the form of non-refundable ODA. The value of aid is equivalent to 500 billion VND, of which the Vietnamese side receives 455 billion VND, the rest is the designated agent fee of the Government of Japan.
At the signing ceremony of the note, Long and Takio also discussed the resumption of travel between Vietnam and Japan through commercial flights. The two sides took this chance to discuss the Japanese-supported Cho Ray 2 Hospital project, which has lasted for 5 years but has not been implemented, and agreed to speed up this important project.

Vietnam plans to set up quick test for nCoV in preparation of 'reopening'
On the afternoon of September 7, the Ministry of Science and Technology had a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health, the manufacturers of nCoV test kits, research institutes ... to discuss plans to ensure the use of fast COVID-19 inspection products. The Ministries request to ensure a quick, accurate test solution at a reasonable price to ensure which is applicable for passengers entering Vietnam.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac suggested scientists and experts propose testing options to ensure that the source of nCoV infection that spreads to the community is not missed when Vietnam reopens its national routes in the near future.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health, Vietnam currently has 4 types of bio-products, including 2 types of kits using Covid-19 antibody detection technology in the blood of Covid-19 patients and 2 types using biotechnology (RT-PCR) and RT-LAMP to detect nCoV virus.
