Hack4Growth Unlimited 2021: Honoring Vietnamese Creators Around the World

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Ngo Huong Nam, vice chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The committee is very pleased that the winning projects of the contest are the products, which are not only innovative, but also in the fields of health, green agriculture, and e-commerce. Those are all topics related to the development trend of Vietnam - green economy, the digital economy, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Committee specifically call for the contribution of the Vietnamese community around the world.
Projects and ideas are not only the enthusiasm of Vietnamese young people abroad, but also the country's expectations for overseas Vietnamese to return to the country, and contribute to the development of the homeland. The committee hopes that the Hack4Growth projects will soon be put into practice and achieve high results.
The committee wishes that Hack4Growth will become one of the contests with far-reaching influence, connecting and promoting the creative spirit of Vietnamese people around the world, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam.
Ngo Huong Nam also said that the committee also hopes that in the near future, winning teams in the Hack4Growth Innovation Contest will be able to participate in the final round of the Techfest organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The innovative startup ecosystem created by AVSE will become part of the connection to the National Innovation Ecosystem.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Pham Hong Quat, Ministry of Science and Technology said that Hack4Growth is not only a contest but also spreads and connects domestic and foreign partners. He expected the Committee to organize a Techfest competition in association with Hack4Growth at major universities around the world.

The first prize winning project of Hack4Growth Unlimited 2021 is Nanoneem - a biological pesticide using nanotechnology and natural mechanisms against pests and diseases extracted from Neem trees and other herbal plants. The second and third prizes of the competition respectively went to the CRE Vietnam project - CRE biological discs for rapid and early screening to reduce the transmission of Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in hospitals; and the SoBanHang project - an app that helps small and micro retailers increase revenue through activating local e-commerce, selling more with credit and getting bigger cash flow.

Besides, SETS - a carbon credit trading platform through blockchain technology and TreeOTek's AIRemedy - an eco-saving & environmentally friendly air purifier, achieved fourth and fifth place of the competition.
After the contest, the journey of Hack4Growth will continue, projects can connect with mentors and investors through AVSE Global's V-Space platform (https://vspace.global/).
Hack4Growth hopes to be a bridge to help projects continue to grow and flourish in the near future.
Hack4Growth Unlimited 2021 is a global innovation competition organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), AVSE Corporation Vietnam, under the auspices of the State Committee for Vietnamese Affairs - Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With the goal of promoting a culture of innovation, the Hack4Growth Unlimited 2021 contest creates a playground for creators to unleash their talents; connect them with investors, businesses; as well as creating opportunities to turn ideas and projects into reality. The second season of Hack4Growth aims to find useful solutions for fields and localities in Vietnam. The contest was launched, calling for projects from 5 regions around the world: Vietnam, Japan, Europe, North America and Australia. After more than 8 months of implementation, Hack4Growth Unlimited 2021 created 59 challenges from 27 localities; received nearly 200 quality entries from Vietnamese citizens, overseas Vietnamese, from more than 12 different countries. |
