	Vietnamese-American share positive beliefs about COVID-19 vaccine

The concert was attended by the Vietnamese community and international friends from the U.S., Australia, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, and other countries across the globe.

The title of the concert, “Sharing to Get Closer,” symbolized the connection between kind-hearted people in Vietnam and other countries, suriving together during these difficult pandemic years. Through timeless melodies of world-famous composers, the concert aspired to use music to tighten the bond between overseas Vietnamese hoping to bring renewed energy, trust and optimism and build a brighter future for humankind.

As a virtual concert, the organizers and participated artists hoped to attract public assistance for the Government of Vietnam’s Covid-19 vaccine fund, which would be used to purchase vaccines, research and produce Covid vaccines made in Vietnam, and inoculate Vietnamese all over the country. Donations for the fund can be made via https://www.quyvacxincovid19.gov.vn, sending SMS messages to the number 1408 or transfer to the designated banks.

At the concert, touching and inspiring stories from compassionate Vietnamese in the countries and abroad were shared. The concert sent out the message, “Sharing for a healthy Vietnam; sharing so that Vietnam can overcome the pandemic via the largest mass vaccination program ever.”

From Macedonia, Conductor Le Phi Phi, who had fought against Covid successfully with science and self-determination, openly talked about his journey, hoping to bring more hopes and strengths to the Vietnamese community across the world to cope with Covid.

Vietnamese living in the United Kingdom, Korea and Japan also shared their experiences studying and working during the pandemic. Hung Anh, a student at Oxford University, said he and his friends wanted to contribute to Covid prevention efforts even from afar and hoped Vietnam would soon win against Covid-19. Similarly, Buddhists in Japan, workers in Korea and businessmen in Australia and the U.S. sent their warm messages to fellow countrymen in Vietnam.

Prof. Nick Brown from Oxford University, where the first Covid-19 vaccines were developed, expressed his appreciation toward Vietnam’s Covid prevention efforts. Brown fully supported the Covid-19 vaccine fund initiative and the virtual concert.

The organizers and participating artists hoped that the people of Vietnam would aid the fund and in so doing, overcome the pandemic.

Sponsors who made direct online contributions via the Covid-19 vaccine fund website during the concert received gifts from famous brands such as Grab, FPT Retail, PNJ and Pharmacity. In addition, 5,000 domestic and international travel tickets by Vietjet were distributed.
