He hoped the Vietnamese language teaching training course and nearly 500 Vietnamese books donated from Vietnam would motivate the Vietnamese language teaching and learning movement in the Vietnamese community in Taiwan. It will also increase the understanding of the Vietnamese community and Taiwanese friends about the Vietnamese language and culture, and promote cultural exchanges between the people of Vietnam and Taiwan.

Attending the opening ceremony and receiving the donated books, Truong Thien Chinh, Mayor of Taoyuan City, affirmed that the city always wants to create a friendly cultural and reading environment for the Vietnamese community, especially the young generation. He also wished that the young generation in multicultural families would understand and preserve Vietnamese cultural traditions and language, becoming a bridge to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Taiwan.

Within the framework of the training course, a discussion took place on "The current situation of teaching and learning Vietnamese for Vietnamese children in Taiwan" on July 3.

Implementing the project "Day of Honoring the Vietnamese language in the Vietnamese language community in the period 2023-2030", Vietnamese Bookshelf Abroad is a cooperative initiative between the overseas Vietnamese and Vietnam Education Publishing House, dedicated to beginners learning Vietnamese, Vietnamese language teachers and researchers in the community.

In 2023, the two sides launched 2 Vietnamese bookcases in Fukuoka (Japan) and Budapest (Hungary).

The bookshelf includes many types of books such as Vietnamese teaching and learning materials, comics for children, reference documents, and advanced supporting documents, with monographs on Vietnamese for those who teach and research the language.

Along with that is a QR code to guide access to the Vietnamese language teaching program for Overseas Vietnamese children based on the Hello Vietnamese book series by Vietnam Education Publishing House in collaboration with VTV4 Foreign Television Department - Vietnam Television Station, broadcasting regularly from April 2023 on VTV4 channel and other digital platforms.
