The campaign takes place from October 1 2020 to January 2021 and is divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, a viral clip with the participation of H’Hen Nie, Top 5 finisher at Miss Universe 2018, and other celebrities will be released aiming to advertise distinguishing features of Ho Chi Minh, VOV reported.

Two songs named “Hello Ho Chi Minh City” and “Tôi yêu bánh mì Sài Gòn”, (I love Sai Gon bread) will also be on air with a view to popularizing the Vietnamese food.

Besides, a photo collection of the local scenery, culture, and daily lives of Saigonans will appear on postcards, expected to draw the attention of many people.

A show of Ao Dai (traditional costume of Vietnamese people) is scheduled to be held on October 9, while a signing ceremony on safe and attractive tourism co-operation between Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region is slated to take place in November this year.

In the second phase, the local authorities will hold tourism promotion for international organizations in which the southern city is a member of, like the Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) and the Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department said “the campaign Hello Ho Chi Minh City is expected to restore the city’s tourism which is severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as build the southern metropolis to become Asia’s leading tourism city where travelers can enjoy distinguishing experiences”.
