According to information from Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Haraco), from September 15, the railway has applied a trial application (app) to scan QR codes to order products and services on Thong Nhat trains SE1/SE2, SE19/SE20 Hanoi-Da Nang route and trains on the Hanoi-Hai Phong route.

Accordingly, on the seat carriages or in the sleeping compartments, QR codes will be posted, and customers will use their smartphones to scan the QR code and it will link to the sales website.

On this website, passengers can choose to buy food and drinks to eat on the train by ticking the items they want to buy. The system records and reports to the carriage staff, the staff will come to the passengers to confirm and notify the food service staff to serve the product to the passengers.

If the passenger chooses to order regional specialties, the staff will also come to confirm with the passenger the item and quantity. However, specialties must be associated with a place such as Cau Mong veal (Quang Nam), tapioca cake (Hue), and other dishes. Before the train arrives at the station, it stops at this place for at least 20 minutes and the staff must confirm the order with the customer. After this time, the system will no longer display the specialties of this place, but will only show the specialties of the next place on the train journey.

After the customer's order is confirmed, the goods will be delivered to the station so that when the train stops, the staff on the train will deliver them to the passengers. Passengers can choose different forms of payment such as cash or bank transfer.

Regarding price, the railway also commits that transport branches work with suppliers to ensure quality goods and reasonable prices.
