The Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden has just organized the Homeland Spring (Xuan Que Huong) Program with the participation of nearly 100 overseas Vietnamese from Vietnamese associations in Sweden (including Vietnamese Cultural Association in Sweden, the Vietnamese Association in Stockholm and surrounding areas, the Vietnamese Friendship Association in Östergötland, the Vietnamese Association in Eskilstuna) and the Vietnamese Business Association in Sweden along with all Vietnam to Sweden Embassy staff, friends and families.

On the occasion of the Homeland Spring Program, ​​the Vietnamese community in Sweden held the launching ceremony of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Sweden.

This is the country's first representative body of Vietnamese expats. Vietnamese associations in all regions of Sweden have found a common voice and decided to establish the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Sweden.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Phan Dang Duong highlighted outstanding achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved in the fields of socio-economic development, culture, and foreign affairs in 2021.He shared that with the effective implementation of vaccine diplomacy, Vietnam has successfully implemented a rapid vaccine coverage strategy, switched to a strategy of flexible, safe adaptation and effective control over the negative effects of Covid-19, hence gradually restored production activities.

He emphasized the valuable contribution of the overseas Vietnamese community towards the above achievements. In addition to the contribution of knowledge, trade, investment, remittances..., overseas Vietnamese in Sweden always turn to their homeland with deep affections. Overseas Vietnamese in Sweden support the people in the country to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods via donation and various support activities.

In particular, only in 2020, Vietnamese associations and people in Sweden have actively and actively raised VND 630 million (US $27,601), support the people in the central region to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

In his New Year's speech, the Ambassador warmly congratulated Vietnamese associations in Sweden for their constant growth, solidarity, attachment and mutual assistance in foreign lands and homeland.

In particular, the recent establishment of the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Association in Sweden and especially the launching ceremony of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Sweden on the occasion of the Homeland Spring this year once again affirms the desire and determination of the Vietnamese business community in Sweden. The hearts of Vietnamese expatriates in Sweden are always united, attached and towards the homeland.

The Homeland Spring Program is also a specially celebration of the Lunar New Year 2022.
