In the past 36 hours, Vietnam has not reported any new cases of COVID-19. An additional 1,530 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on March 21.

Vietnam records no new case in the last 36 hours

No new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 36 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

As of 4 pm on March 21, 2021, a total of 33,891 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, including doctors directly treating COVID-19 patients, health workers perform tasks such as sampling, testing, tracing community members where positive cases found, and the Steering Committee for pandemic prevention and control staff.

The Ministry of Health recommends that after the vaccination, vaccine recipients still need to fully implement the 5K message.

Vietnamese citizens hit by the pandemic in Cambodia receive support

Vietnamese expatriates in Cambodia’s Kandal and Prey Veng, who are facing tough challenges during COVID-19 quarantine, received food assistance from the Vietnamese Embassy and Khmer-Vietnam Association in the host country on March 19 and 20. According to the embassy, markets and essentials services have been available for locals since the first COVID-19 cases were detected in the two provinces. Livelihoods of the Vietnamese under quarantine have been stabilized gradually, it said.

On March 20, the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Kandal province received and presented 500 gifts, including rice and noodles, to Vietnamese-Cambodian families in Luek Daek, Mukh Kamphool, Lvea Aem, Kien Svay, and Ponhea Lueu districts. The gifts were donated by the Associations of Friendship Organisations in Dong Thap province and Tan Chau town in An Giang province and several Vietnamese philanthropists.

One day earlier, the association in Prey Veng province distributed rice and noodle to 408 Vietnamese households in Prek Sai Kho commune and presented gifts to 135 Khmer families affected by the pandemic through the local authorities.

Quang Ninh close pandemic control posts from March 22

The Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control in Quang Ninh has just issued an official dispatch on the implementation of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 in a new state. Accordingly, from 0:00, on March 22, 2021, the operation of Covid-19 control posts for vehicles and people entering and leaving Quang Ninh will be suspended.

As the Covid-19 pandemic is well controlled in the province and neighboring cities, Quang Ninh Steering Committee directs the People's Committees of Quang Yen, Uong Bi, Tien Yen, Ha Long to reopen conditional business activities on the basis of strictly COVID-19 prevention measures implementation. The province also asks these localities to stay cautious to avoid any unexpected situations.

In particular, in Dong Trieu town, the Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the Town People's Committee need to give out specific and appropriate directives base on the locality's conditions.

Thanks to good control, the national total COVID-19 count stays at 2,572, and the death toll remains at 35.

As of March 21, 2,198 patients have been given the all-clear. The death toll remains at 35. Among the patients still under treatment, 37 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 18 twice and 63 thrice.

Meanwhile, 37,174 people are being quarantined nationwide, with 490 at hospitals, 17,990 at concentrated quarantine facilities and 18,694 at their accommodations.
