Vietnam Times and benefactors support Bac Giang battle against Covid-19

The Vietnam Times and various organization have gifted various medical supplies to Bag Giang province. The supplies include 3,000 antibacterial cloth masks, 2,500 medical masks, 400 sets of protective suits for children, 100 anti-drop glasses, 67 boxes of instant noodles, 33 barrels of water, 20 boxes of salted lemon, 500 toothbrushes, 510 bars of soap, 500 tubes of toothpaste, 500 packs of shampoo, nearly 100 bottles of antibacterial spray.
Immediately after receiving the goods, the Vietnam-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Association in Bac Giang transported and donated them three Covid hotspots: Viet Tien commune, Viet Yen district, and the Provincial Center for Disease Control and Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no gifting ceremony, with volunteers just delivering goods to ensure the requirements of disease prevention and control.
Talking to the Vietnam Times, Duong Van Luan - chairman of the Vietnam-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Association in Bac Giang province thanked the publication for becoming a bridge between donors and individuals who want to help the people of Bac Giang, contributing to better human values and sharing in society.
In particular, he thanked benefactors from Thanh Hoa city, Ho Chi Minh City and many regions of the country who have joined hands with Bac Giang to fight the pandemic.

"In the past few days, the Vietnam-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Association in Bac Giang province has also launched a donation campaign to support and join hands with Bac Giang people to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. Responding to the call, The association's members as well as many overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic and many sponsors have voluntarily contributed and donated cash. It is expected that by June 2, the association will summarize the collected money to give to Bac Giang province's Covid-19 vaccine fund," Duong Van Luan said.

Trough volunteer activities, the Vietnam-Czech-Slovakia Friendship Association in Bac Giang hopes to be able to help the local people, Luan said. In particular, the association hopes that people in isolation wards and patients at hospitals will have less difficulties and do well in the prevention and control of the Covid-19.

According to Bac Giang Department of Health, the Covid situation in the province is developing in complex fashion. As of May 25, there were about 1,300 cases of Covid-19, with nearly 13,000 people in concentrated isolation areas. |
