Tran Thuy Trang is currently 38 years old, who has lived in Japan for more than 10 years. She met Mr. Tallal Ahmed (37 years old, Pakistani) in Japan and married him.

After 9 years together, Trang and her husband have a 6-year-old adorable daughter called Miu.

At the beginning of the 2023 - 2024 school year, their relatives and friends were surprised to learn that the couple decided to bring their daughter back to Vietnam to study in first grade.

“Miu is in 1st grade in Hanoi. She quickly integrates into the new learning environment. I feel very great, and I hope my child studies well”, said Trang.

Mr. Tallal Ahmed is very busy with his business and often travels between Japan and Vietnam. However, he really supports his wife's decision to bring their child back to Vietnam.

Previously, her family mainly communicated in Japanese and a little English. Tallal doesn't speak much Vietnamese while Miu speaks Vietnamese better.

Trang has been teaching her daughter Vietnamese since she learned to speak. When she went to kindergarten, they teach Japanese to kids.

“At that time, Miu only listened and spoke, but did not know how to write in Vietnamese. First, I taught my child to call 'mom' in Vietnamese, but she kept calling 'ma ma'. The Vietnamese word that she speaks the most correctly is 'fish'”.

“Even though she did not call 'mom' first, I am very happy with the results of my hard work in teaching her Vietnamese”, said Trang proudly.

Far from her homeland, Trang always hopes that baby Miu can not only listen and speak Vietnamese well but also read and write fluently. She understands that mother and daughter have a lot of things to talk about. Therefore, being fluent in Vietnamese, the mother tounge, will help her kid to express her emotions and have better talk with the mother.

Trang also wants her daughter to learn Vietnamese culture and value family affection.

“When she can understand the roots and lifestyle of Vietnamese people, whether she studies, lives or works abroad, she will never forget her motherland Vietnam”, said the mother.

Mr. Tallal also expresses his special love to the Vietnamese language. He shared: "I regret not learning Vietnamese any sooner."

He plans to focus on learning Vietnamese so that every time he returns to Vietnam, he can communicate with other people.

Tallal and his daughter really like Vietnamese even though learning Vietnamese is much more difficult than learning English. “If you are determined, you will study well. I look forward to the future when my husband can learn more Vietnamese”, said Trang.

The couple do not place much importance on how long baby Miu studies in Vietnam. The length of time depends entirely on the happiness and excitement of the daughter.

If she loves and develops well in the environment, she can keep studying in her mother's homecountry.

In addition to learning the language, Trang also hopes her daughter will enjoy many delicious Vietnamese dishes.

“Cuisine is also the pride of Vietnamese people. It is an indispensable part of my 'curriculum' for raising a child. When the child is a little older, I will teach her how to cook Vietnamese food. From cooking, she can understand more about the culinary culture of the motherland”, Trang confided.
