Vietnamese student thanked for saving two children fell into icy river in Russia

Hung and a Russian citizen recently have received thank-you letters from the authorities of Pskov oblast for saving two children meeting accident on Velikaya River, VNA reported.
On March 15, while passing the bank of Velikaya (Great) River, Hung saw two children, one is 10 years old and the other is 11 years old, fell into the water due to broken thin ice when walked along the banks of the river.
Hung and other people immediately jointly saved the children. With his medical knowledge, Hung managed to maintain their body temperature, thus saving their lives.
The Velikaya is a river in Novosokolnichesky, Pustoshkinsky, Sebezhsky, Opochetsky, Pushkinogorsky, Ostrovsky, Palkinsk, and Pskovsky Districts of Pskov Oblast, as well as in the city of Pskov in Russia. It is a major tributary of Lake Peipus and belongs to the drainage basin of the Narva. It is 430 kilometres (270 mi) long, and the area of its basin 25,200 square kilometres (9,700 sq mi). The name of the river literally means "Grand" or "Great" in Russian. The towns of Opochka, Ostrov and Pskov are located on the banks of the Velikaya.
Earlier, Governor of Pskov Mikhail Vedernikov handed over a thank-you letter to Andrey Strugin who was the first person to detect the two victims and give them timely help.
