In the first quarter of 2021, the Son La Province welcomed more than 297,000 visitors including around 8,500 international ones. Revenue from tourism services is estimated at 210 billion VND, increasing by 18% compared to that of the same period in 2020.

With the aim of welcoming 2.9 million visitors this year and gradually making Son La a safe and attractive destination in the Northwest, the locality is actively implementing many synchronous solutions, such as promoting propaganda, advertising and associating for tourism development; creating favorable conditions for business and community to develop tourism; mobilizing resources for building synchronous and safe infrastructure, technical facilities, tourism services ...

In addition, realizing the strengths of the community-based tourism, localities in Son La province also focus on on-site human resource training for tourism development, so that every local can become a "tourism ambassador”. In particular, about 2 billion VND is invested each year in villages that are planned to be built into a local CBT village.

Ms. Pham Thi Nhung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Moc Chau District Party Committee, said: "The district has built a tourism development program to 2025, orientation 2030 with the goal is to make each local a tourism ambassador because when building the CBT villages, no one else, but each villager will have autonomy and make decisions that are right for their community”.

In the coming training sessions, everyone will be trained carefully and thoroughly to know how to introduce culture to visitors with the most friendly and hospitable attitudes, which are the key factors to impress and attract visitors".
