President Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the president. Trump made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday afternoon, NPR reported.
President Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the president. Trump made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
No further details were immediately released, and it's unclear how the former New York City mayor became infected. Giuliani has spent recent weeks traveling to lead failed legal challenges in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
On Wednesday, Giuliani was in Lansing, Mich., where he did not wear a mask while speaking to Michigan lawmakers at a hearing lasting more than four hours. On Thursday, he was in Atlanta, where he talked to Georgia state senators without a mask.
Giuliani is the latest of more than a dozen people in Trump's orbit who have tested positive since October. Giuliani's son, Andrew Giuliani, who is a White House staffer, said he tested positive on Nov. 20.
Mass evacuation in Germany's frankfurt after World War 2 bomb found
The 500-kilogramme (1,100-pound) British bomb had been found on a construction site in Germany's financial capital on Thursday, the emergency services said.
Nearly 13,000 residents were evacuated in Frankfurt on Sunday as experts defused an unexploded World War II bomb, local emergency services said.
The 500-kilogramme (1,100-pound) British bomb had been found on a construction site in Germany's financial capital on Thursday, the emergency services said.
A 700-metre (half-mile) evacuation radius was set up in the west of the city centre in an area that included a number of old people's homes, heating and internet infrastructure and facilities of the Deutsche Bahn national rail operator.
The work was expected to continue into the evening because of coronavirus restrictions, the authorities said.
Some 75 years after the war, Germany remains littered with unexploded ordnance, often uncovered during construction work.
Earlier this year, experts defused seven World War II bombs found on the future location of Tesla's first European factory, just outside Berlin.
Sizeable bombs have also been defused in Cologne and Dortmund this year.
In 2017, the discovery of a 1.4-tonne bomb in Frankfurt prompted the evacuation of 65,000 people -- the largest such operation since the end of the war in Europe in 1945, according to NDTV.

Moscow opens dozens of COVID-19 vaccination centers
2 million doses of Sputnik V will be available in coming days, says Russia's Putin
The city of Moscow is opening 70 vaccination facilities where thousands of doctors, teachers and others in high-risk groups had signed up to receive COVID-19 vaccines starting Saturday, a precursor to a sweeping Russia-wide immunization effort.
The centres in the capital started giving shots to willing recipients three days after President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of a "large-scale" COVID-19 immunization campaign, even though a Russian-designed vaccine has yet to complete the advanced studies needed to ensure its effectiveness and safety in line with established scientific protocols.
The Russian leader said Wednesday that more than two million doses of Sputnik V will be available in the next few days, allowing authorities to offer jabs to medical workers and teachers across the country starting late next week.
Moscow, which currently accounts for about a quarter of the country's new daily infections, moved ahead of the curve with the opening of the vaccination facilities on Saturday. Doctors, teachers and municipal workers were invited to book a time to receive a shot. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that about 5,000 signed up in a few hours after the system began operating on Friday, as reported by CBC.
"Of course I had doubts, especially given that all the clinical trials haven't ended," said Tatyana Kirsanova, who received the vaccine Saturday at a Moscow clinic. "But I decided to go ahead and protect myself with all possible options."

Gold price prediction – prices consolidate as yields rise despite weak payroll report
Gold prices consolidated following a softer than expected non-farm payroll report. Yields rallied despite the weak number, as riskier assets continued to rise. The dollar index closed at a 31-month level not seen since April of 2018.
Gold prices consolidated and traded sideways but are still poised to test the November highs near 1,900. Support is seen near the 10-day moving average at 1,815 and then the 200-day moving average at 1,803. The weekly Fibonacci retracement of the rally from August 2019 to July 2020 comes in near 1,737. Short-term momentum has turned positive as the fast stochastic generated a crossover buy signal. Medium-term momentum is poised to turn positive as the MACD (moving average convergence divergence) index is poised to generate a crossover buy signal. This occurs as the MACD line (the 12-day moving average minus the 26-day moving average) crosses above the MACD signal line (the 9-day moving average of the MACD line).
