This activity is part of bilateral cooperation to provide livelihood support for poor households between World Vision Vietnam and MAVIN group. Accordingly, the households participating in the project are supported with the cost of breeds, animal feed, vaccines and veterinary drugs, as well as receiving the technology to raise 12,000 ducklings until they are 31 days old.
With guidance from MAVIN group's experts, households learn how to mix duck feed effectively to make the most of the agricultural by-products. This is the basis for them to self-finance the breeding costs for duckling from 32 days onwards.
When households correctly follow the process and utilize the feed provided by MAVIN Group, households can sell ducks after 42 to 50 days when their weight is between 3.2. - 3.7 kg.
Since 1990, World Vision has joined hands with the Vietnamese government and other non-governmental organizations to carry out many relief, development, and advocacy programs. World Vision currently operates in about 15 cities and provinces throughout Vietnam.
World Vision Vietnam mainly focuses on conducting activities for children's well-being particularly in some fields like health, education, children's participation, and children protection
Elsewhere, World Vision Vietnam has implemented the Saving for Transformation livelihood model in three project communes: Kien Thanh, Nghia Thang and Dak Ru of Dak R'Lap District, Dak Nong Province.
Up to now, many households have benefited from this model through access to loans and basic knowledge - financial skills to use these loans effectively.
With the rapid development of digital technology in all aspects of life, World Vision Vietnam has recently collaborated with DreamStart Labs to bring the Dream Save application into the operation of the Saving for Transformation groups.
Introduction and training sessions have been organized, so members of the Saving for Transformation groups, especially managers, can get acquainted with this new technology, thereby managing and maintaining the group activities increasingly effectively./.
