The activities aim to express the respect and gratitude of Vietnamese people towards President Ho Chi Minh. On the occasion of the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2020), Hanoi has organized many activities to communicate deeply to the Party members and people about the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnamese revolutionary career.

Hanoi will host a number of photo exhibitions to tell stories about the late president’s life and career as well as local people standing out in the campaign of studying and following his ideology, morality and style.
A documentary named “Bac Ho voi Thu Do Ha Noi” (Uncle Ho with Hanoi Capital City) will be aired to pay tribute to the late leader, according to Vietnamplus.
During this time, the Hanoi Culture Department organizes art shows on the stages at Ly Thai To Monument and Flower Garden in Hoan Kiem Lake area, My Dinh Stadium...and many public places in the area.

Hanoi Department of Culture organizes mobile films to serve people who stay afar from the city center including who reside in some industrial parks or export processing zones.
At the local level, authorities will organize seminars, talks, incense-burning ceremonies at memorial houses of President Ho Chi Minh. The city has also promoted a campaign to promote literary, artistic and press works with the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".
The city also launches some activities that embellish historical, revolutionary relics and memorials related to President Ho Chi Minh's activities.
During the occasion, Hanoi holds a writing contest about President Ho Chi Minh and accelerate the promotion of art, literary, and journalism works about him, according to Vietnam News.
Meanwhile, a grand ceremony will take place on May 17 morning to mark Uncle Ho's birthday in the central province of Nghe An, following a flower and incense offering in his home village of Kim Lien.
An exhibition on large-size posters will be organized at the Ho Chi Minh Square and Statue in Vinh City, the provincial capital, from May 15 – 30.
