HUFO presents 2,000 gifts for disadvantaged people and children in HCM City

The HUFO and Tzu Chi on May 30 have handed over 2,000 gift packages worth VND 3 billion (USD 128,590) for visually impaired people, people with disabilities and orphans at the Vocational Training Center for People with Disabilities and Orphans in the city. Each gift costs VND 1,5 million (64.3), including cash, rice, necessaries, and face masks.
Speaking at the event, HUFO Chairman Vuong Duc Hoang Quan said the donation, which was raised through people-to-people diplomacy activities and contributions by donors and foreign NGOs in Vietnam, aims to help the vulnerable people overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In recent months, the HUFO has coordinated with foreign NGOs and business associations in Vietnam in organizing fund-raising programs, present medical supplies, and make contributions for the fight against the COVID-19 both inside and outside Vietnam.
This week, the HUFO and the city's Vietnam – US Friendship Association presented to a delegation of the US Consulate General 75,000 face masks, 100 protective suits, and USD 2,000 in order to help the country deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Union also in collaboration with the NGOs of Singapore Methodist Mission Society and the city's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association on May 22 to present 5,000 antibacterial masks and 400 bottles of hand wash gel to students of Cu Chi-Town Secondary School.
