North Korea unwilling to have another conversation with the U.S.
North Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted the head of the North Korean foreign ministry’s North America Department Kwon Jong Gun, affirmed that North Korea strongly criticized South Korea's role as an "arbitrator" in its relations with the U.S., stated that the country wants no further conversation with the U.S.

Head of the North Korean foreign ministry’s North America Department Kwon Jong Gun urged Korea not to interfere in his country's affairs, stating that this intervention will only complicate U.S.-North Korea relations and worsen the relations between North and South Korea.
Referring to the possibility of the next summit between leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump, Mr. Kwon reaffirmed North Korea's First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Son-Hui's point made on July 4th believing that this is a sensitive time, "even the smallest judgments and misunderstandings can cause serious consequences".
On June 30th, South Korea President Moon Jae-in revealed that South Korea is fostering another U.S. – North Korea Summit before the U.S. Presidential Election. However, North Korea strongly opposed this idea as the country believed that the summit will only serve as a tool for the U.S. to deal with domestic political crises, at the same time affirms its unwillingness to have another conversation with the United States.

After no agreement was made within the second summit between leaders of the two countries in Hanoi in February 2019, the US-North Korea relations has been in political gridlock. Although the two leaders met again four months later at the inter-Korean border and agreed to resume working-level talks, there was still no substantive progress in bilateral relations.
