Phu Quoc, known as Pearl Island is the largest island in Vietnam, located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island has an area of 593.05 square kilometers, almost equivalent to the area of Singapore. When it comes to Kien Giang Province, Phu Quoc is a must-visit destination for many travelers.

The Pirate Island (Dao Hai Tac) situated in the Gulf of Thailand, off Vietnam’s southwestern coast, between Ha Tien and Phu Quoc. According to the local historic documents, in the 17 century, Mac Thien Tich, a leader of the region, many times ordered his troops to fight against local pirates, who lived in the area. Therefore, the archipelago name Hai Tac originated from that time.
