Vietnamese expats in Indonesia believe 13th National Party Congress enhance country’s position in international arena

There are about 300 Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in Indonesia’s big cities such as Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali, VOV reported.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Quang Vinh said that the Party Committee, Vietnamese representative agencies, the business community, and Vietnamese expats in Indonesia always turn their hearts to the homeland, surmount difficulties especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic; unite, preserve the national identity; at the same time work hard to contribute to the national development as well as to foster the Vietnam-Indonesia strategic partnership.

Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang expressed his belief: “The 13th National Party Congress is an important political event which will make new policies helping to elevate the country to a higher stage of development especially in the volatile global context. I fully believe that the Congress will be successful and continue promoting the achievements of the previous congresses, thereby enhancing Vietnam’s position in the international arena”.

In 2020, Vietnam successfully accomplished the dual roles as ASEAN Chair and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. Ambassador, Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to ASEAN Tran Duc Binh emphasized in difficult and challenging 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully fulfilling the role as ASEAN Chair helped Vietnam leave a deep imprint as an active, responsible state member and always strive for the ASEAN’s common goals.
Vietnam led the bloc to overcome difficulties and effectively respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, maintain solidarity, unity, as well as stimulate cooperation and development within ASEAN.
“The officials and Party members of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to ASEAN believe that the 13th Congress will continue affirming the important position and role of ASEAN to Vietnam as well as asserting Vietnam’s commitment to realize the goals of strengthening solidarity and effective cooperation towards a cohesive, resilient, prosperous and dynamic ASEAN Community according to the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, and contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the region”, stressed Ambassador Tran Duc Binh.

In the 2014- 2019 period, Vietnam-Indonesia trade turnover increased 60% from US$5.6 billion to US$9.1 billion. The two countries are making efforts to reach US$10 billion in bilateral turnover. The Vietnamese community in Indonesia, particularly enterprises have made a great contribution to stepping up the trade cooperation between the two sides.
Director of Kangaroo Vietnam Group in Indonesia Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that the Party and State have always paid attention to overseas Vietnamese especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has conducted many repatriation flights bringing citizens home. I hope that the upcoming Congress will continue to give policies helping overseas Vietnamese community, including ones caring Vietnamese goods exported abroad.
With a high level of determination of the entire political system, Vietnam has basically put the pandemic under control and posted economic growth of 2.9%, among the world’s highest. Vietnam has also supported international friends in the fight against the Covid-19 including Indonesia by presenting medical equipment and face masks.
