Famous incense-making village in Hue turns colorful as Tet nears
Every year as Tet (Lunar New Year) draws near, Hue city's Thuy Xuan village - known for the long lasting incense making tradition - is putting on a new makeover as bunches of colorful incenses are displayed around the village.
The production atmosphere of villagers is busier than ever. Incense bunches of all kinds of colors are arranged on both sides of the road, giving the small village a splendid scene.

Ms. Ton Nu Anh Tuyet (71 years old) - who has more than 60 years of making incense, said villagers are making incense all year round, but the production and sale volume reaches its peak before and during Tet.

Thuy Xuan village supplies to the markets a wide range of incenses, including those with the smell of cinnamon, lemongrass, jasmine,etc.

People must go through many steps to make incense. Ingredients commonly used to make incense include five flavors of herbal medicine with cinnamon chi, cardamom, buds, cloves, anise, eucalyptus.

Thanks to the quality and the eye-catching outlook, incense in Thuy Xuan village has become the favorite choice of retailers and buyers from different parts of Vietnam.
