Be Island, also known as An Bình island (Peace Island) is a small island in Ly Son island, Quang Ngai, Central Vietnam. The island covers an area of 0.69km2, with a population of around 500 people. Quietly nestles amidst the sea, Be island creates its own beauty of peaceful life with the unique wild beauty of nature.
From the Lon island harbor, visitors will have to take a 15-minute boat to reach Be island. Once stepping on the island, visitors can tour around by tram, motorbike taxi, or walk on clean and peaceful concrete roads to both sightseeing and enjoy the fresh air of a secluded place and surrounding poetic and beautiful scenes.

Majestic million-year-old volcanic sedimentary cliffs envelop the island, which gives the scene a dark black color, together with the blue of the sea and sky, the white of the sand and golden yellow of sunlight during daytime. Lines of coconut palms in the distance will surely complete the stunning picture that Mother Nature has sophisticatedly created. Be island retains its alluring untouched beauty that not every place can have.
Be island shows off all-day beauty. From the sunrise when the first bright rays of sunlight appear, to the sunset emerged in golden sunlight and the stary, windy nights. During the daytime, visitors can also experience firsthand growing and tending garlic and onions in the middle of the fields, just like the locals do. You can also buy bunches of those produces – the specialty of Be island. On top of that, wandering around the fishing village, boating the basket boat on the sea, camping by the beach, snorkeling, and watching coral reefs, enjoying the idyllic delicacies from the sea are also top activities to enjoy in the area.
Local people in Be island are very approachable and willing to lend their neighbors and even visitors a helping hand. There are only some 100 households living in the island, all the houses are erected next to each other, all facing to the sea. Most of the females in the village stay at home, doing the farm work – mainly growing garlic, onions while the males set sail to the sea to catch seafood. Growing garlic and fishing are the two main livelihoods of Be island residents.
From the pristine nature to the friendly people, Be island is no doubt a must-visit place to put on your waiting list. It’s truly heaven to discover.
