According to Volunteer Program Bali, in 1924, the League of Nations decided that June 1 will be remembered as International Children’s Day. It is a special day designated as a reminder for the world to address problems that have direct or indirect effects to the welfare and well-being of children worldwide.
International Children’s Day was officially adopted in 1950 and is celebrated on June 1. It conveys a message for child protection and improving the lives of children.
International Children’s Day is devoted to activities that promote and raise awareness of issues that affect children, such as child sex tourism, poverty, and education. Every country is allowed freedom to organize events, and usually, governments work together with organizations that specialize in fulfilling children’s needs and overcoming problems.
